Croup Covers

It’s designed to keep the large muscle groups in the horse’s hind end warm during exercise, particularly in cold weather. Unlike a full blanket, a croup cover allows the horse’s shoulders and chest more freedom of movement. They are typically secured with a surcingle that goes around the horse’s belly and often have attachments that connect to the saddle or saddle flaps to keep them in place during riding.
